Cogmed Working Memory Training

TM

Cogmed is an effective and evidence-based computerized training program that improves attention by effectively increasing working memory capacity over a 5-week training period. The program can be used by individuals ranging from children as young as age 4 up to senior-age adults, and who may have attention problems related to ADHD, some learning disabilities, normal aging, or forms of traumatic brain injury.

However, no diagnosis is needed to use Cogmed. Anyone who is constrained by their working memory, as evidenced by poor attention and focus, concentration, problem-solving, planning, self-organization, following instructions, impulse control, academic performance, or professional performance, may benefit from Cogmed.

Cogmed is backed by a substantial and growing number of peer-reviewed studies published in leading scientific journals and has produced excellent clinical results. Specifically, 80% of clients who complete Cogmed training see clear improvements.

Cogmed was developed by neuroscientists at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, and introduced to the United States back in 2006. Dr. LoPinto's practice is now one of more than 400 teams of qualified professionals offering Cogmed training across the country.

Cogmed training can be done in the comfort of one's home. The program is web-based and compatible on any computer that supports flash. The initial interview and start-up meeting are usually done in Dr. LoPinto's office first, and then weekly coaching from Dr. LoPinto is conveniently done over the phone.

Cogmed is radically different than other working memory training programs in that it is backed by solid research that no one else can match, has a track record of effective and long-lasting results, and is provided exclusively by a network of carefully trained and qualified professionals to make sure every Cogmed user gets the professional coaching needed for the best possible improvements.
